At Gardenista Store, we take pride in delivering healthy, vibrant plants to gardening enthusiasts worldwide. However, we understand that sometimes you may need to return or exchange an item. Our policy is designed to be as straightforward as our approach to gardening.
Our Returns Promise
We offer a 15-day return policy from the date you receive your plants. To be eligible for a return or exchange, your item must be unused, in its original packaging, and in the same condition as when you received it. You’ll also need the receipt or proof of purchase.
Non-Returnable Items
Due to the nature of our products, certain items cannot be returned:
- Bedding Plants – These delicate plants are unlikely to survive return shipping
- Flowering Shrubs – Their specialized packaging makes returns impractical
- Fruit Trees – These mature plants require specific handling
- Any plant that has been planted or removed from its original packaging
If you receive damaged or incorrect items from these categories, please contact us immediately at [email protected] with photos of the issue.
How to Initiate a Return or Exchange
Step 1: Contact Us Within 15 Days
Email our customer care team at [email protected] with:
- Your order number
- Details about the product you wish to return or exchange
- The reason for return
- Whether you prefer a refund or exchange

Step 2: Wait for Our Response
Our Belfast-based team will respond within 2 business days with return instructions. For exchanges, we’ll check availability of your requested item.
Step 3: Package and Ship Your Return
Once approved:
- Repackage the item securely in its original packaging
- Include all tags and protective materials
- Affix the return shipping label we provide (customer pays return shipping unless the return is due to our error)
- Ship to: Gardenista Returns, 19 Church Ln, Belfast, GB CH5H 8ES
Step 4: Receive Your Refund or Exchange
Once your return is received and inspected (typically within 5 business days of arrival):
- Refunds: Will be processed to your original payment method within 10 business days
- Exchanges: Your new item will ship within 3 business days of approval
Refund Details
Refunds will be issued via your original payment method (Visa, MasterCard, JCB, or PayPal). Please note:
- Original shipping costs are non-refundable
- Return shipping costs are the customer’s responsibility unless the return results from our error
- Processing times depend on your financial institution (typically 3-10 business days after we issue the refund)
Damaged or Incorrect Items
If you receive damaged plants or incorrect items:

- Include photos of the damaged product and packaging
- We’ll arrange for replacement or refund at no additional cost to you
